The current Medway Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) for Medway was undertaken in 2014 and is due to expire in March 2018. This is a mandatory function that Health and Wellbeing boards need to deliver every three years. It was agreed by Public Health DMT (Directorate Management Team) that this Needs Assessment be undertaken independently and should be commissioned out. The Provider will ensure a specialist consultant ("Specialist") with a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical services and the regulatory framework governing the pharmaceutical sector, is engaged to refresh the PNA for Medway Council. The Specialist will also provide support to the development of the Council's public health plans and other strategies where these require alignment with the PNA.
