Cornwall Council requires a new website and digital collections system for its archive and local studies centre, Kresen Kernow (Cornwall Centre in Cornish), opening in December 2018. The project will bring together the Cornish Studies Library, Cornwall Record Office and Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Historic Environment Record in a purpose built new facility to create the largest collection of records, books, photographs, maps and audio-visual for researching Cornwall's history, archaeology and culture in the world, (see appendix 1 for further information). Our new website will be the first port of call for thousands of visitors, researchers and learners and needs to be developed with our existing and potential users at its centre. It needs to encourage exploration, engagement and sharing. We aim to give all our users and visitors the best possible experience, whether online or in Kresen Kernow. It is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and has outcomes based on enabling over a million people to engage with our outstanding archive and library collections.
