Heritage Lottery Fund Project Evaluation

The National Army Museum has recently carried out a major redevelopment. The Museum now wishes to carry out a post project evaluation. The Scope of this is contained in the attached documents but below are broad aims. The purpose of the evaluation is to summarise what has been achieved and what has been learnt during the project. The findings will be communicated to all staff and amongst wider professional colleagues so that positives can be reinforced and maintained internally and lessons shared and learned from the things we would have done differently. Its audience will be the Museum staff and Board of Trustees, HLF, Project Board, Partners and stakeholders. The evaluation will: • Tell the story of the project • Examine the extent to which the vision, objectives, targets and outcomes have been realised, where the original ambitions and targets have been met (or exceeded), and where (and why) there may have been a shortfall • Present an assessment of the longer-term outcomes and impacts beyond the end of the project, and of the plans in place to ensure its legacy is carried forward • Review the process of project delivery: how effective have the governance and project management structures been? • What has been learnt - should things have been done in a different way?
