The works comprise internal repairs and complete redecorations to all Public Library areas:- comprising raised ground floor; ground floor mezzanine; 1st floor and 1st floor mezzanine, plus 2nd floor level. This to include main staircase. The Cabin in the main entrance lobby is to be refreshed and the internal joinery is to be painted or French polished as the existing finish. Supply and install additional new internal lights in the main reading rooms, at ground; 1st and 2nd floors, plus upgrade existing internal lights. (Detailed within the Schedule of Work). Emergency lighting to be checked to ensure in good working order. Fit Client supplied additional lights in the exhibition area of the Public Library at 1st floor level. French polishing to internal joinery at ground and 1st floors, including mezzanine levels. French polishing to Client's furniture where noted in the Schedule of Work. Internal doors and frames to be decorated with Fire Retardant Coating to match colour as existing. Renew internal carpet tiles plus areas of vinyl flooring and window blinds. Repairs and redecorations to internal water damaged walls and ceilings. Redecorate all previously painted internal joinery and metalwork, including windows; doors; skirtings; dado rails; picture rails; mouldings; railings and the like. Remove redundant cables; tidy up wall and skirting mounted electrical and other wiring, neatly contain into trunking or conduit encapsulation. Works to be undertaken on a floor by floor basis, to an agreed sequence, to enable the Library to remain open at other floor levels during the works. The redecorations to include the main public staircase area. A period of closure may be necessary whilst the main staircase is scaffolded and redecorated.
