The Trust is a specialist NHS Foundation Trust that provides community, mental health and learning disability services to the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. The Trust also provides some medium secure (forensic) services to the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.
In 2011/2012 the estate portfolio increased in capacity by nearly 100 % through the amalgamation of the Barnsley PCT estate into SWYPFT as part of the ‘Transforming Community Services' and government ‘White Paper' issued by the Department of Health.
The estate now covers a property portfolio of over 108 000 m² throughout the regions of South and West Yorkshire. A vast area of South and West Yorkshire and includes a diverse range of hospital and community properties. These include in patient hospital sites, community health centres, GP premises, secure Mental Health properties and ancillary buildings for allied health services.
The Estates and Facilities Department manages and maintains the property portfolio providing breakdown maintenance of the building envelope, ensuring standards and compliance are maintained at all times and where necessary ugrading property where the need arises. To support the maintenance of its properties the Estates and Facilities department has demand for increased tradesmen capacity in the following areas: Contract Co-ordinator; Approved Electrician; Electrician; Gas Safe Plumber; Plumber; Joiner; Bricklayer; Plasterer; Painter; Semi-Skilled; Labourer and Apprentice rates for all the afore mentioned trades.
The successful tenderers will part part of a framework agreement under each (all) trade heading and will compete for the Trusts ad-hoc business through their day rates submitted or by a separate mini-tender process in competiton with other framework suppliers for longer term projects.
The contract value stated is based on current expendiutre extrapolated over the three year contract period and is for guidance purposes only as the total value of business could fluctuate both up and down.
