Resettlement Mentoring Service for prisoners serving an Indeterminate Sentence for Public Protection (IPP) released to Kent, East/ West Sussex, Brighton and Hove

The Resettlement Mentoring Service will support prisoners serving an Indeterminate Sentence for Public Protection (IPP) by establishing mentoring relationships that start in prison and continue through the gate. The Mentoring Service will provide support to prisoners with issues associated with early non-compliance of their community licences. The aim is to reduce the high rate of recall for non compliance and reoffending; preparing and supporting this group of prisoners as they re-integrate back into the community, thereby protecting the public. The successful Provider will be required to deliver the service within the Kent, Sussex and Brighton and Hove area. The budget for this service is £95,000 p.a. The Authority intends also to hold a Supplier Briefing event at Standford Hill (Isle of Sheppey) on 7 January 2013.
