Queen's University Belfast is inviting tenders from competent firms for the provision of Research Consultancy Services to undertake a survey of the experience of ageing in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland Cohort for Longitudinal Study of Ageing (NICOLA) Wave 1 Survey:
To carry out a population based Computer Assisted Personal Interview survey of subjects over 50 years of age not living in institutions in Northern Ireland to obtain information in relation to the experiences of ageing together with a range of other dimensions of lifestyle, health and socioeconomic circumstances.

Contract value: Queens University Belfast is inviting tenders from competent firms to undertake a survey of the experience of ageing in Northern Ireland.The research is designed broadly to mirror that already undertaken by Trinity College Dublin (the Irish Longitudinal Study of Ageing - TILDA) and by University College London (the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing - ELSA).The research aims to produce a massive improvement in the quantity and quality of data, research and information relating to older people and ageing in Northern Ireland. It will involve interviews with a cohort of 8 500 people aged 50 and over and will collect detailed information on all aspects of their lives.The survey will involve a face-to-face Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) survey and a self-completion questionnaire given to participants to return after the interview.Estimated value excluding VAT: Range: between 800 000 and 1 200 000 GBP
