Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust proposes to redevelop the Block 9 and Prideaux buildings at St Thomas' Hospital. The main Block 9 buildings are Grade-II listed, within a conservation area and sit directly between two world heritage sites – the Houses of Parliament and Lambeth Palace. It is thus a particularly sensitive site from a planning perspective and its redevelopment is likely to be complex.
The Trust is looking to appoint an architect under the NHS Blue Book for the pre-construction services for design up to planning consent stage and Final Business Case approval (NHS Blue Book stages 0, 1 and 2 (sufficient for planning)). Subject to this approval, the Trust would extend the appointment through completion of the design, contractor procurement and construction (NHS Blue Book stages 2 (balance after planning), 3-6).
The estimated project value is currently GBP 25 000 000.
