Dehumidifiers. Hoses. The MoD has a future requirement for the design, prototype trial, low volume production and supply of a range of polyurethane (or similar) adapters and hose fittings for the use in the dehumidification of military aircraft.
The requirement will also include production and supply of items (using the existing design and cold mould tooling, available for inspection).
The adaptors and fittings shall meet the following specification:
a) De designed, where appropriate, to mate sufficiently closely with the compound curves or other features on an aircraft fuselage to prevent rain water ingress without causing damage to that surface/feature.
b) Be capable of maintaining shape, flexibility and stability in ambient air temperatures ranging from -32°C and +55°C without significant degradation of performance or life expectancy.
c) Be lightweight, durable, flexible and resistant to wear and mechanical damage.
d) Be fully resistant to fire and fuels, fluids and other materials in general use in the military environment.
e) Be fully resistant to decay from atmospheric/climatic conditions (rain, ozone, ultra-violet radiation etc).
f) The material of the manufacture must be highly visible.
In addition to the supply of the above, it is envisaged that the following support activities may be required as part of the contract:
a) Supply of Technical Publications (to MoD format).
b) Post Design and production support for modifications to existing components.
c) Safe custody of Authority Owned Tooling.
The authority will wish to agree costs for each package at agreed stages of the design/prototype/production process.
BS EN ISO 9001:2008; (or an internationally recognised alternative) is a pre-requisite and a copy of the accreditation is to be supplied with the request to participate.
A PQQ may be issued after receipt of expressions of interest. Estimated cost excluding VAT: £670,000.00.
