Contract value: Cherwell District Council wishes to select an experienced biomass system installer to undertake the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a c. 500 kW biomass system, related ancillary equipment and fuel storage, fuel reception and fuel transfer, and integration with existing M&E services for Bicester Leisure Centre. Products should comply with EN45011.Bicester Leisure Centre is principally a swimming pool complex, comprising a main pool, smaller training pool, sports hall, squash courts, fitness gym, crèche facilities and a bowling alley. The original sports centre building was constructed in 1974. In June 2009 the building was fully reopened following an extensive refurbishment programme.Two gas fired boilers located in a boiler room attached to the building currently provide pool heating, space heating and hot water services to the complex.The current heating system is natural gas (1 024 kW); annual consumption in the 2010-11 heating season was 2 492 865 kWh (based on 85 % efficient boilers demand is estimated at 2 118 935 kWh). Hot water and swimming pool demand is estimated at 1 620 000 kWh and space heating at 500 000 kWh per annum.The available power supply at the Centre is 3-phase.Estimated value excluding VAT: Range: between 200 000 and 300 000 GBP
