Environmental Auditor

Environmental Auditor Procurement Overview We are procuring contractors to carry out 12-hour environmental audits of Hackney SME businesses as part of the Greenlight North London project. This is an ERDF-funded project that is a partnership project, which is managed by LB Islington. This document is an invitation to provide a short proposal so we can identify contractors and companies to carry out audits, as well as run workshops and provide other services. Procurement Details We are looking to procure the services of a single contractor, or a number of contractors, depending on quality and availability. Contractors will be paid on the basis of full delivery of the 12 hours of audit and full paperwork required by the ERDF Programme. LBH responsibilities – - Lead generation. - Holding initial one hour meetings with businesses to do a mini diagnosis of the scope of their needs with regards environmental auditing. - Tabling the various leads at monthly management meetings to prioritise those that are most promising in terms of following up with an auditor. Contractor responsibilities – - Following up promptly when LBH provide a warm lead. - Meeting with clients to do a full diagnosis and facilitate the signing of the Company Registration Form by the client. - Twelve (12) hours of auditing provided for each business. - Capturing savings made by the businesses after implementing the actions and adding these to the appropriate forms and updating at a later date. - In certain circumstances providing a number of hours of auditing or workshop time. - Completing all ERDF paperwork required under the ERDF Programme. - Keep timesheets and update LBH regularly at agreed times on how audits are tracking, possible via an online tool. Contractor Spec We are looking for expert environmental auditors with a track record of delivering full audits for delivery partners as part of a government-funded programme. Detailed specification includes – - Extensive experience delivering audits as part of govt-funded programmes, ideally ERDF, ESF or similar EU project - Operates out of Hackney or close to it - Degree or Masters in Environmental Management or similar - 2-3 years in an Energy Management role in industry - IEMA qualification in Environmental Auditing - Experience of ISO 140001 or similar - Their own network of contacts in the local area About the Buyer Hackney Council is a local government authority in Greater London. About the Buyer’s Selection Process In order to make a decision we are looking for a proposal on no less than five pages that covering your capability and recent track record, along with CVs of your key staff, and their qualifications – - Two references from the last eighteen months – one from an ERDF delivery partners you have worked with - Your approach to delivering this piece of work - The amount of time it would take you to travel to a Hackney station (e.g. Old St Tube, Dalston Junction, Shoreditch High St) - List of what audits you have delivered in the last eighteen months - Details of referees from previous businesses audited - Hourly rate - Your availability between December 2012 and April 2013 - How soon you can start
