The Infrastructure Delivery programme plans and delivers new Border Control Points (BCPs), which are physical buildings in which veterinary and plant health professionals check imported animals, plants and food products to ensure biosecurity compliance. Defra needs more of these because we will need to check animals, plants and food products from the EU from July 2021 You will work with contractors and infrastructure colleagues in other government departments on a range of technical deliverables and would be likely to have a civil engineering or similar technical background. The range of activities could include delivery management through contractors, technical solutioning to emerging issues, support to site operations procurement, on-site test and operationalisation; all of this is in a fast paced, highly visible public and political environment, with sensitive local planning considerations. We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a similar environment.
