This project is for the delivery of Phase 1 of the Connswater Community Greenway/ East Belfast Flood Alleviation Scheme with an approximate value of £4.4m. Phase 1 involves the construction of approximately 2.5km of shared pedestrian/ cycle paths, three associated bridges (2 pedestrian/ cycle bridges with clear spans up to 60m and 1 vehicular bridge with clear span up to 30m), associated lighting/ CCTV, landscaping and miscellaneous public realm and river enhancement/flood alleviation works. The Flood Alleviation works consists of flood walls, flood earth embankments and river realignment works. Design will be carried out by the Contracting Authority with some specific Contractor Design elements required from the Contractor. Full details of Employer and Contractor Design elements will be included in the Works Information issued at Invitation to Tender stage.
