Evaluation of the Troubled Families Programme

The Troubled Families initiative, a three year programme, was launched in April 2012. The Prime Minister set it this objective: to turn around the lives of 120,000 troubled families by March 2015. In addition to information that will be produced from claims under the Payment by Results scheme for local authorities, the Department for Communities and Local Authorities is looking for a supplier to carry out an evaluation of the programme to find out whether and how it has achieved its objectives. What impact has the programme had the lives of the families? How has it made a difference – what has worked and what hasn’t? Has it achieved its objective of reducing the cost to taxpayers of reacting to the problems troubled families cause and suffer from?
