Contract value: The Form of Contract will be the JCT Standard Form of Measured Term Contract 2006, Edition Revision 2 2009, incorporating adaption schedule for Northern Ireland 2009.Separate MTC contracts are in place for floor covering, painting and maintenance of security equipment. The University also has separate contracts in place for various specialist maintenance activities including, but not limited to, lifts, air conditioning, fire alarms, automated doors, gas boilers and asbestos removal.The scope of work associated with this contract relates to individual projects up to a value of 50 000 GBP and does not include planned maintenance which will be carried out by University maintenance staff or other external contractors.Typically, larger MTC work orders consist of laboratory/office refurbishment work or where the schedule of rates will provide value for money. Smaller orders can relate to urgent repairs such as roof leaks or installation of electrical outlets where a prompt response is required. In some cases repairs can be required outside normal working hours for urgent repairs, for example to heating main leaks.Routine emergencies are usually dealt with through callouts by University maintenance staff or by the relevant maintenance contractor. However, larger scale emergencies have required the support of the MTC contractor outside normal working hours on a small number of occasions.Estimated value excluding VAT: 5 000 000 GBP
