GB-Kessingland: Café at Marram Green Kessingland

Flagship Housing Group Limited has a requirement for a commercial catering organisation to operate the café at their Marram Green sheltered housing scheme on a service concession basis and deliver a service that becomes an integral part of both the Marram Green scheme and the local community. Flagship Housing Group Limited operates a very sheltered housing scheme at Kessingland in Suffolk. The housing is physically integrated with a number of other community facilities and the entire development is located within, and is strongly connected with, the local community in an area of mixed housing, local shops, a primary school, a children’s play area and other community facilities. A café and full commercial kitchen facility owned by Flagship is incorporated within the very sheltered housing scheme, but the café and kitchen have not been in operation for approximately the last six months. Scheme Profile • 32 Flats. Most single occupancy, but some couples. Resident profile: Over 55 years of age with minimum 4 hours per week care need. Residents are very sociable and will spend many hours outside their own flats. • Meeting Room used by Flagship staff or sub-let to other organisations from around the area. Currently open: • Hair Studio hairdressing salon. • Scheme Gym – also used for community groups • Kessingland Parish Council Rooms - The Compass Suite see www.thecompasssuite.co.uk let out to community groups as follows: - The Spinnaker. Room for general use currently including Pre-school children, Keep-fit, and Dance Group. - The Hub. Parish Council office and meeting room. Parish Clerk open surgery, Parish Council Meetings, Parish Council sub-committee meetings, Club & Assocuiation Committee meetings and District Council Ad-hoc meetings - General Offices & Rooms. Currently used by Waveney District Council – contact office, CAB and plan for Police local base/contact point. - Oasis Area. Informal meeting/waiting area. All residents and all visitors to the scheme have access to the café area. Flagship is seeking an innovative and professional Operator from the catering sector to operate the café on a commercial basis.
