Approx. 150 hospitals will be involved in SPIRIT 3. 1 000 patients will be recruited into the study over a period of 4 years. We anticipate 3-monthly deliveries of medication to all patients and patients will be on study meds for up to 10 years. Therefore there will be an estimated (1 000 x 4 x 10) = 40 000 deliveries over the lifetime of the project. During the period of the contract we may wish to offer a home phlebotomy service for trial patients.
