The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) is commissioning a research project to estimate long run income elasticity’s of imports on a by country and by commodity basis with respect to the world and the UK. This project also aims to assess how changes in different components of aggregate demand may impact import demand. The purpose of this exercise is to obtain a better understanding of the future demand for British exports. The results of this analysis will be required by 26th of March 2013.
