The MCA is seeking a contractor to manage the administration of Government support grants for maritime training, under a scheme known as SMart - UK Support for Maritime Training. SMarT will be administered on behalf of the MCA by a contractor, to ensure it is administered effectively and correct payments made. The contractor's primary duties will be: — The creation, operation and maintenance of a database containing details of trainees claimed for under the SMarT scheme and claims information, — The payment of grants under the scheme, including a responsibility to ensure that they are only paid to registered training providers for the training of eligible trainees, — Auditing registered training providers to ensure that they are complying with their duties under the rules that govern the scheme.
