The Provision Of Options Appraisal On The Measurement Of Peoples Experience Of Integrated Care

The requirement is to produce an options appraisal to assess strategies, at various costs and levels of feasibility, for measuring people's experience of integrated care. This work will produce recommendations on how to produce a measure suitable for inclusion in the Outcomes Frameworks. There are two key questions we want to address i. Who should we be asking about their experience of integrated care (eg the general population or specific cohorts of patients)? ii. How should we ask them? (eg. At a specific point in an individual’s journey of care? In a particular setting (hospital, home, surgery etc.)? The question of what should be asked (eg specific survey questions) will be addressed separately following completion of this work, although some general, high-level consideration of this issue may be necessary to effectively complete the requirement. The work will produce recommendations on how best to measuring peoples experience of integrated care. This may be a single measure or different measures for different groups of patients. It must consider how to measure the experience of integrated care for all groups including but not limited to; older people, individuals with long term conditions, families and children. • The Department of Health reserves the right to discontinue the tendering process and not to award the contract. • Transparency Potential suppliers should note that, in accordance with the Government’s policies on transparency, DH intends to publish the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document, and the text of any contract awarded in real time, subject to possible redactions at the discretion of DH.
