To supply two or possibly three radiofrequency spectrum analysers to be used as survey and laboratory instrumentation by staff engaged in the provision of NIR services and consultancy within the Health Protection Agency. This equipment will be used in conjunction with suitable receiving antennas to perform assessments of exposure to a wide range of electromagnetic fields and radiation. The instruments must offer at least the same level of performance as the current instruments (Agilent E4407B with options 1DR & 1DS). It would be desirable for the new instruments to offer enhanced performance in some or all areas reflecting technological improvements since the current spectrum analysers were acquired. Improvement areas would be, frequency range, particularly higher frequencies, displayed average noise level and bandwidth.
