Research assistance on the extent of works to listed buildings carried out without consent when it was required

English Heritage is inviting Tenders for research focusing on crimes committed by owners or occupiers who carry out work without a necessary consent, such as listed building consent. The method for data gathering and subsequent analysis will be developed with English Heritage as the nature of the available evidence within a selection of Local Authorities is explored. It is hoped that a combination of reviewing records and strategic local surveys will produce a means of estimating the scale of the problem at a local level which can be used to extrapolate a tentative national view. The commissioned consultant will be required to produce a) a digital version of the final report in both Word and pdf format on CD and b) the raw data collected through the survey in the form of an Excel spreadsheet.
