A coach hire framework agreement is required to help UCLan staff select coach hire for local, regional and national travel.
The framework agreement will contain up to 6 suppliers to deliver the coach hire service for an initial period of two years with the option to extend up to a further two years.
Equal status will be given to all successful suppliers who will appear in alphabetical order on the framework. Each order will be determined by best price on the cost statement. Should the location not be mentioned on the cost statement, UCLan financial regulations will apply and quotes will be sought accordingly.
The current annual spend on coach hire at UCLan is approximately ?90,000. The figure quoted is for guidance purposes only and is subject to increase or decrease.
There are various UK based field trips, fieldwork and general educational visits undertaken as part of a course of study or research. Visits could be in an urban or rural environment. The nature of the educational visits vary, such as visits to museums, art galleries, theatres, concert performances, factory tours, farms etc.
Every field trip and associated fieldwork activity must be risk assessed in advance by the course leader of the trip. A coach hire framework agreement will assist the course leader to help mitigate risks associated with coach hire.
