395221-2012: UK-Durham: Infusion pumps

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to purchase a number of ambulatory syringe pumps for use in community settings. These pumps must be suitable for intravenous administration of a range of medication.
Syringe Pump.
The ambulatory syringe driven pump needs to be lightweight and compact for administration of any IV medication in patient's homes. The pump needs to have no requirement for a stand and have:
— Battery operation, battery status indicator, Recharge facility;
— Recognition of commonly used luer-lock syringe brands (2 to 50 ml);
— Safety features which protect administration programmes, for e.g. purge facility;
— Large memory facility for event logs for audit purposes which can be locked and accessed only by authorised staff;
— Current infusion display which can be viewed during infusion, such as Rate, VTBI, VI, Time remaining;
— Range of alerts/audible alarms with a display of status and action to resolve problems;
— Lockable keypad;
— Audible Alarmed syringe sensors for incorrect syringe insertion;
— Occlusion pressure settings for different clinical applications or therapy;
— Simple cleaning/decontamination requirements between patient uses;
— Non-dedicated administration extension sets.
