To enable the continued maintenance of its property and estates assets Watford Borough Council intends to let a contract to undertake a range of small and medium scale civil engineering works, minor repairs and improvements. It is intended that the contract would also be made available to the neighbouring authorities of Three Rivers District Council and Dacorum Borough Council. Jointly the three Councils cover south west Hertfordshire and have a population of 321,000 and with the largest and most significant town centre in Hertfordshire, Watford is at the centre of the contract area.Our neighbouring authorities may also wish to exercise their right to also issue works packages under this contract. Works packages could comprise path construction, drainage works and pipeline repairs, road resurfacing, paving, kerbing, maintenance of watercourses, landscaping within public parks and site clearance. The works could be capital project based improvement works or routine maintenance of existing assets. The contract will be formed on a schedule of rates for individual work items and this will be the basis for the re-measuring and valuation of works orders and final accounts.
