Building consultancy services. The Trust is a specialist NHS Foundation Trust that provides community, mental health and learning disability services to the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. The Trust also provides some medium secure (forensic) services to the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.
In 2011/2012 the estate portfolio increased in capacity by nearly 100 % through the amalgamation of the Barnsley PCT estate into Swypft as part of the "Transforming Community Services" and government "White Paper" issued by the Department of Health.
The estate now covers a property portfolio of over 108 000 m² throughout the regions of South and West Yorkshire and includes a diverse range of hospital and community properties. These include in patient hospital sites, community health centres, GP premises, secure Mental Health properties and ancillary buildings for allied health services.
The Estates & Facilities Department manage and maintains the property portfolio providing breakdown maintenance of the building envelope and ensuring standards and compliance are maintained at all times.
The Estates & Facilities Departments "Estate Management" and "Capital Project" teams manage the Trust’s capital development programme which is provided by the Trust to plan, develop and maintain the estate portfolio. The team provides professional technical and project management services for the Trust in the design, procurement and construction of capital works schemes. This includes provision of capital new build, refurbishment, modification and engineering works associated with the managed estate portfolio.
The Estates & Facilities Department currently delivers its capital programme of works via a combination of specialist procurement and contract methods. The purpose of this Tender is to provide the Estates & Facilities Department access to the use of a professional and specialist construction related consultant.
The successful tenderers shall be made available as when necessary by the Trusts Estates & Facilities Department to undertake specialist consultancy services in the design and delivery of capital schemes and estate related work.
The estimated total value of capital project work based on last 3 years programme of works is approximately 22 000 000 GBP inc VAT. This figure includes P21+ framework expenditure and PFI initiatives.
Capital project expenditure not on this basis equates to 8 000 000 GBP approx. over three years.
