Terrestrial Scanning System LiDAR – Kew

The Royal Botanical Gardens Kew GIS Unit, in support of Kew’s Breathing Planet Programme, require a terrestrial laser scanner, known as a LiDAR to help improve our vegetation survey abilities and provide us with a tool to improve our research efforts. LiDAR allows the user to quantify the vertical structure within an ecosystem, potentially aiding and improving our ability to assess the 3 Dimensional structures and complexity of an ecosystem, which can be related to such variables as biodiversity, biomass and carbon content climate change. The Authority is seeking the most economically advantageous tender on a through life basis including accessories, software, training and maintenance for both software and equipment for 5 years.
