It is widely recognised that town centres in the UK faced a number of challenges pre-Covid-19 which were already presenting significant opportunities for developers and landowners to start on a period of significant town centre regeneration. The Covid-19 pandemic has essentially sped up the decline in many traditional town centre functions therefore emphasising the need for investment and regeneration to support their role. The council's new corporate plan "Big Plans for a Great Place'' for the people of Sandwell will set out six major outcomes to focus on to make Sandwell a great place to live, work and do business - for residents, businesses and the whole community. The plan articulates the strategic direction of the Council over the next 5 years and provides a framework to enable the Council to organise itself to deliver the six strategic outcomes. The Masterplan is expected to embrace the Councils 2030 vision, and objectives and support the drive of Sandwell's Inclusive Economy Deal
