Organisational restructuring within NPAS has resulted in crews flying further transits and operating in previously unfamiliar terrain. NPAS seeks to achieve a standardised fleet of helicopters fully equipped with Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS) to enhance flight safety and requires a number of aircraf to be upgraded to NVIS standards.
