391933-2012: UK-Cambridge: Core drilling

The University of Cambridge, in conjunction with the universities of Southampton and Leicester, the National Museums Scotland and the British Geological Survey, will drill a 500 m deep, fully cored borehole in the Berwick upon Tweed area as part of the TWeed Project. The project is investigating how limbed vertebrates adapted to walk on land around 360 million years ago.
The contract works are scheduled to be carried out during March to May 2013. It is anticipated that the duration of the drilling will be several months. The ability to perform this work around this timescale may influence the awarding of the contract.
The work is subject to the University receiving all necessary consents, including planning permission.
