UK Trade and has a co-ordination role across government to establish a more systematic approach to relationships with overseas companies which are significant investors. Again this background UKTI established the Venture Capital Unit as a means of identifying UK “born global†early stage companies to help promote the UK to non- UK based investors, facilitating introductions with the ultimate aim of driving further investment into UK entrepreneurial activity. Initial research has indentified a number of potential corporate venture investors based in Japan. The research requires further validation.
