Building services consultancy services. English Heritage wishes to establish frameworks for building services engineering consultants for works related to its estate of historic sites, associated buildings and offices, and new buildings on the estate. English Heritage is seeking consultants who will use a minimum amount of subcontracting.
English Heritage manages over 400 historic properties across England as well as some 24 offices and stores. The historic properties contain both historic and non historic assets. They vary significantly in age, size, complexity, geographical location and type ranging from furnished historic houses, ruined castles and abbeys to prehistoric and Roman remains, industrial sites, gardens and statues. Almost all are protected as scheduled ancient monuments and / or listed buildings, registered historic gardens, conservation areas. A few are World Heritage Sites. English Heritage is required to conserve and maintain these properties for the enjoyment of present and future generations. Some of the offices are also listed buildings. Description of service to be provided undertake full or performance design, contractor installation review and reporting, condition surveys, production of asset schedules, advice and reporting for the full range of building services engineering systems and installations.
The framework will be let in Lots by geographical area as set out below:
Lot 1 - North Territory (Northumberland, Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire & Yorkshire);
Lot 2 - East Territory and London (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Norfolk, Suffolk -Cambridgeshire, Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and London);
Lot 3 - South Territory: Kent, East Sussex, Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Isle of Wight, and West Sussex);
Lot 4 - West Territory (Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly);
Suppliers may apply to be considered for one or more Lots and will be asked to indicate which on the Prequalification Questionnaire. Form of Contract to be used: English Heritage General Conditions for the Appointment of Works Consultants. English Heritage envisages that the number of operators who will be invited to tender or to participate will be 6 per lot. The value range given in II.1.4 is an estimated figure only this can go up or down depending on the Project and funding / budgetary constraints.
