The provision is designed to help Jobseekers Allowance claimants aged 18-24 who have reached 26 weeks unemployment move into sustainable employment. It will deliver a period of 8 weeks mandatory work experience through a variety of placements that are of benefit to the community. The work experience element of the provision will last for 30 hours per week for 4 days over a 7 day period and will provide the claimants with a greater insight into the world of work as they experience habits and routines of working life. The contractor must also deliver 6 hours of support activity to move the claimant closer to the labour market which must include a CV service, innovative job search activity for avacancy opportunities, how to apply for jobs on-line and will tackle any barriers to work such as time keeping, motivation, appropriate dress standards and address barriers to work for each individual.
