GB-Leicester: Cycle Training Programme

Leicester City Council wishes to appoint training organisation(s) to deliver Cycle Training Programme for the following three types of Cycle Training Programmes that will be covered by this contract. This is scheduled to commence in January 2013 and proposed to complete in July 2015. 1 BIKEABILITY CYCLE TRAINING – Lot 1.2a The ‘Bikeability specifications and standards’ are produced by Leicester City Council which the Service Providers must adhere and comply to. All Leicester Bikeability Cycle Training is co-ordinated by Leicester City Council and delivered by Accredited Cycle Training Instructor providers. In each calendar year the External Service providers will train approximately 876 (includes both level 2 and 3) pupils. For the final year 2015, 510 pupils shall be trained. This will be subject to funding made available by DfT 2 ADULT CYCLE TRAINING – Lot 1.2b The ‘Adult cycle training specifications and standards’ are produced by Leicester City Council which the Service Providers must adhere and comply to. All Leicester Adult Cycle Training is Co-ordinated by Leicester City Council and delivered by Accredited Cycle Training Instructor providers. In each calendar year the External Service providers will deliver approximately 90 classes of adult cycle training in locations agreed by Leicester City Council within the administrative boundary. This will be subject to funding made available externally. 3 SCOOTABILITY CYCLE TRAINING – Lot 1.2c The ‘Scootability cycle training specifications and standards’ are produced by Leicester City Council which the Service Providers must adhere and comply to. All Leicester Scootability Cycle Training is Co-ordinated by Leicester City Council and delivered by Accredited Cycle Training Instructor providers. Leicester City Council will pay the Service Provider as priced in 6.2 ‘Bill of Quantities’ of the Tender document. In each calendar year the External Service providers will deliver Scootability training to approximately 2,100 children in locations agreed by Leicester City Council within the administrative boundary.
