The Chief Medical Officer’s report in 2007 concluded that, ‘Good health in adolescence is inextricably linked to a young person’s ability to fulfil their potential in life.’ For example, alcohol use in young people can be linked to cannabis use, lower educational attainment and can make them more likely to be a victim of crime.
