The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has a requirement for a suitably competent and experienced contractor to undertake Fabric FMR (Forward Maintenance Register) works at selected MCA sites across their estate, throughout England and Wales. The extent of the works briefly comprise of the following – Undertake both internal and external fabric repair works, such as roofing repairs, insulation upgrades, refurbishment/ replacement of doors and windows, repairs/ replacement of ceiling and floor finishes, ironmongery repairs/ replacement, re-decorations, drainage works, fencing/ footpath/ access road repairs, garage door maintenance, etc. The works must be completed by 31st March 2013 (with an anticipated 12 week programme) and will need to be undertaken generally at sites with the client in occupation (and therefore there will be a degree of out of hours working involved). The works will be tendered as four separate packages (as detailed below) under a single stage selective tendering process and let under an NEC3 Short form Engineering Contract. Package 1 East region (north and east) – Tyneside to Thames Package 2 East region (south east) – Dover to Portland Package 3 West region (Wales and north west) – Chepstow to Liverpool Package 4 West region (south west) – Brixham to Bristol The estimated total contract value for the four packages is circa £150,000 excl VAT.
