The department of Histopathology requires the provision of a digital imaging system that allows the capture of still & video images at the dissection table from gross surgical or post mortem tissues. The system should provide voice recordable descriptions for the individual cases, allow automatic measures to be performed across all planes of the gross specimen as well as annotation of the image & visual demonstration of where histological block selection has taken place. The system must allow network connectivity to Consultant Histopathologist’s PC’s & Trust central server storage. The system should be user friendly & require minimal daily maintenance procedures for setup prior or during its operation.
