The new model allows for patients to be referred either by their GP or to self-refer into the service which includes MCAT's, MSK physiotherapy and orthotics. The new provider will be expected to work very closely with secondary and primary care undertaking diagnostics testing where possible reducing the burden on secondary care. Closer working with rheumatology and pain services will be expected but this pathway has not been fully established as of yet.
