Prior Information Notice (PIN) and Market Engagement for the delivery of a Masters in Genomic Medicine - part of the NHS Genomics Education Programme, Health Education England - NHS/SoEPS/17.329

NHS South of England Procurement Services, acting on behalf of Health Education England (the Commissioner) will be commencing a tender for the delivery of a Masters (MSc) in Genomic Medicine to support workforce transformation, development and training that is intended to respond to the Department of Health's plans for an NHS that delivers personalised medicine. The MSc is preparing NHS Staff at many different levels for the future of genomics in contemporary healthcare. It is aimed at all members of the multi-professional team. It utilises innovative approaches to delivering masters level academic knowledge to genetics and non-genetics professionals to equip them to understand and embed genomics into their everyday practice. The qualification enables individuals at different levels in the workforce to implement change within their own sphere of practice, directing the workforce transformation required to make genomic services a reality in healthcare. It is envisioned that funded places will be issued to providers according to local demand with a maximum number allowed within each academic year. The total contract value is estimated to be up to £7.2 million. Total funds to be shared between up to 10 providers This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise prospective providers of the Commissioners intention. We also plan to hold a Market Engagement session in London at The Grange Holborn Hotel, WC1B 4AR on 12 July 2017 from 10:30-15:00. This will provide an opportunity for potential providers to find out more about the aims of the tender and contracts, the process involved as well as network with others. HEE will use the opportunity to gather intelligence from providers which may influence the final tender. It is the intention of the commissioner that the procurement will be conducted as on OJEU Service Contract using an Open Procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The ITT is expected to be published in August 2017. A separate advert will be released advising of this.
