Public Sector Network Tender Alert

The Design, Supply and Installation of Level Access Showers

Northumberland County Council is setting up a Framework to Design, Supply and Install Level Access Showers / bathroom adaptations. The Home Improvement Service (HIS) manages the delivery of Disabled Facility Grants (DFG) across the whole county of Northumberland. The DFG provides support to adapt an individual's property to improve access to bathing, allow access around the property and also access in and out of the property and provision of suitable heating. With reference to the current Published Tender for 'The Design, Supply & Installation of Level Access Showers\". It is anticipated that there could be an increase of work and payment methods used through the life time of this Framework. The Council has its own housing stock of 8500 properties and has funding to carry out disabled adaptations. These adaptations include the provision of level access showers for tenants who are unable to currently use the bath in their own home. Over the previous 4 years 100 level access showers have been installed annually and these are funded directly by the Councils capital programme. The council is considering using this framework to deliver these adaptations\". For clarification, this Framework remains unchanged however, this notification is to inform you that there could be an increase in work and that funding could also be directly from the Council as well as from the DFG Funding grant.
