Contract value: Provide Project Management services to support the construction of a new High Temperature Research Centre.The University of Birmingham and Rolls Royce have been successful in a bid to the UK Research Partnership Investment Fund (UKRPIF). The overall award is for 60m GBP (including operational, equipment and new build). This Research Centre will enable the University of Birmingham, Rolls Royce and potential other industrial partners to establish a unique, world-class design, manufacture and simulation research facility that will create a step-change in research capability in casting in the UK.The preferred location for the Research Centre will be Ansty Park, adjacent to an existing Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) which accommodates collaborative research for this University and other Midland partnering Universities along with industrial partners. The new High Temperature Research Centre will be wholly owned and operated by the University of Birmingham with support from the MTC and with Rolls-Royce as its first major industrial partner.
