The Authority has a requirement for a Liquid Scintillation Counter with the following specification: 1. Ability to measure energies in the range 1-2000keV 2. Can successfully measure independent count rates for mixed isotope solutions of 3-H and 14-C. 3. Minimum acceptable efficiency of 60% for 3-H and 95% for 14-C (unquenched) 4. Quench characteristics of samples under test can be made to enable disintegration /minute output 5. Automatic sample changer that is PC programmed 6. Laptop PC control featuring GUI and advanced data handling capability with live spectral viewing 7. Multiple sample loading tray capability for 20ml and 7ml sample vials 8. Future software upgrades to be supplied free of charge. 9. Installation by engineer including basic familiarisation training 10. Additional 1 day training at HMS Sultan 11. An extended 4 year comprehensive (all parts and labour) warranty to be identified leading to an overall 5 year guarantee 12. Supply, install and commission before mid-May 2013 at HMS Sultan, Gosport, Hampshire. The MOD intends to progressively migrate its transactional purchasing activity to electronic purchasing using the Purchase to Payment (P2P) system operating over the Defence Electronic Commerce Service (DECS).
