Heart of England Housing Association Ltd (hereafter OHE) are seeking to appoint a specialist preferred supplier to undertake asbestos removal and remediation services throughout their profile of properties including approx 17,000 tenanted homes, communal areas, garages and other associated properties.
The contract is to undertake asbestos removal and remediation and associated works in relation to the General Needs Housing, Sheltered and Supported Housing owned or managed by OHE.
The successful contractor must hold and maintain throughout the life of the contract a full HSE licence to carry out any remedial or removal works of all forms of asbestos materials and hold the necessary means and licences for safe disposal of that material in line with regulations.
The successful contractor will be required to work under the direction of other Main and Principal contractors engaged by OHE and to act as a sub-contractor to those contractors in certain situations.
The successful contractor will need to demonstrate the ability to update OHE's Asset Management Team using a 'loader spreadsheet' a copy of which is appended to the online PQQ but, at some time in the future may be expected to access the OHE Extranet system for the receipt of Works Orders and processing of documentation, certification and invoices. In this event the providers' systems must be capable of exchanging data with OHE's systems and may require updating with OHE's software.
It is anticipated that the works will be valued using a pre-priced schedule of rates.
The appointed contractor shall be required under the terms of the contract to provide small and large scale planned removal works in addition to emergency call out service (within 24 hours) to remove and dispose of asbestos and suspected asbestos containing materials.
The contract may require the provider to carry out asbestos management and refurbishment and demolition surveys on occasions but does not include surveying which is being tendered as a separate project.
