English Heritage wishes to commission a project, combining two pieces of work identified in the National Heritage Protection Plan, to identify natural and environmental threats to the historic environment, assess their potential to contribute to significant heritage asset loss and identify any particular asset types especially prone to those threats. The overarching aim of this project is to help EH prioritise (in terms of management, research, engagement with other sectors, etc) those heritage assets most vulnerable to degradation from natural and environmental threats to facilitate a tactical response. The proposed project will collate existing knowledge on natural and environmental threats to the historic environment and synthesise that data to produce a succinct summary report.
