Norfolk County Council has completed a support planning strategy which proposes a new model to deliver self-directed support. The model sets out how people with a personal budget will be supported and proposes a fundamental change in the delivery of support services. This first service will deliver information, advice and support to the majority of people in receipt of personal budgets who will develop and implement their own support plans. The service will deliver:
— Information, advice and support to personal budget users about all aspects of their PB;
— Develop and issue toolkits to support people to direct their own support;
— Establish and support structures that enable people using the service to influence the direction of the service and lead peer support groups.
