A CQC registered care/support provider is required to deliver a service at a new purpose built extra care development being built in Hungerford, Berkshire. This is likely to reach practical completion in September 2013 with the first tenancies commencing in October/November 2013.
The Scheme Manager employed by Sovereign South & West will be responsible for the housing management of the scheme. The successful care provider will be expected to work alongside Sovereign’s Manager to ensure a joined-up approach to providing care and support to the Service Users living at the Extra Care Scheme.
The accommodation consists of 46 individual flats which will be available as social rents.
The care/support provider will enter into an agreement with Sovereign for the use of office/staff space and will be responsible for the rent.
The service will provide 24 hour support, 7 days per week, 52 weeks per year. The hours of care/support will be commissioned from Community Services, and Health sources, but will include overnight cover which is flexible to meet the needs of the people living there.
It is anticipated that the hours on this service will be in the region of 600 hours per week plus waking night cover.
It is expected that the first Service Users will move into their accommodation during October/November 2013 with the remaining Service Users moving in over the following two months.
The successful organisation will demonstrate the ability to implement the council’s mandate for providing high quality, person centred services for local people.(WB Ref:11225)
