10853-2013: UK-Glasgow: Medical laser other than for surgery

The Centre for Biophotonics, SIPBS, of the University of Strathclyde nd the Procurement Office are seeking competitive tenders for the purchase of a femtosecond-pulsed Ti:Sapphire laser and optical parametric oscillator system for use in nonlinear optical mesoscopy. To our detailed specification for use in an Academic and Research Environment.
This Operational Requirement gives information relevant to the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of this equipment. The nature of the equipment and the research profile requires an innovative solution in terms of capital finance, recurrent costs and compatibility with future developments. The supplier's proposal should reflect these factors. In particular, the University would welcome a package proposal offering the possibility of developing a collaborative arrangement with the supplier.
Unless otherwise stated, equipment shall be considered New Manufactured and must be declared as such by the supplier. Should your proposal include any refurbished components or equipment these must meet the same warranty criteria as New Manufactured.
All equipment listed under this tender must satisfy appropriate existing EC and HSE guidelines/legislation at the time of supply.
The Contractor must provide full details of their current Environmental Policy relative to practices/materials used within their own organisation and current/projected sources of supply.
The Contractor must strictly comply with the most up-to-date version of the University's Safety Policy including Local Rules for Safe Practice.
