Evidence review and economic modelling on ‘Vitamin D: implementation

The Centre for Public Health Excellence (CPHE) at the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has been asked by the Department of Health (DH) to develop public health guidance on the safe implementation of existing guidance on the prevention of vitamin D deficiency. This piece of guidance will be developed by a Public Health Advisory Committee (PHAC) in 2013 in line with the scope for this work (the draft scope is available here). The guidance is expected to be published in June 2014 and will contain recommendations based on the evidence considered by the PHAC. Tenders are welcome that cover both of the following: • An evidence review of (i) effectiveness and cost effectiveness of interventions and (ii) barriers and facilitators to the implementation of existing guidance on the prevention of vitamin D deficiency for healthcare professionals and at-risk groups • Modelling of cost effectiveness. Please note that only tenders which cover both the evidence review and cost effectiveness elements of the work will be considered. Tenders from individuals, organisations or consortia of organisations are welcomed. The contractor(s) will be capable of providing high quality analyses and evidence within very tight timescales.
