Middlesbrough Council is seeking to dispose of the freehold interest in 2.78 hectares (6.86 acres) or thereabouts of land known as Tennis World. The site is owned by the Council and is to be made available for middle and upper market sector housing development. The site is allocated within the Regeneration DPD for residential development for up to approximately 60 dwellings. The accompanying development guidance has been prepared that provides the framework for the design, development and disposal of the site. The site is a tennis centre with an indoor centre consisting of changing facilities, bar, reception etc. and four courts, three outdoor tarmac courts, three outdoor grass courts and four outdoor clay courts as well as a carpark. Vacant possession of the site is anticipated to be December 2015.
