At the present time it is intended that a single machine will be purchased from this agreement for Porton, however it is likely further machines will be required over the contract period from all areas of the agency. The equipment must be delivered and invoiced by 31.3.2013. We expect to provisionally award the contract by the 19th February and officially after the 10 day stand still period by 1.3.2013.

Contract value: The agency is looking at the purchase of a Nucleic Extraction Machine which can be used in the Clincial diagnositc Rare and imported pathogens laboratory at HPA-Porton. It must be capable of processing sample batches of variable sizes, which may be very small (<24) or large (96) according to seasonal demands. Primary sample handling, primary sample barcode scanning, reagent lot traceability and Short processing times (primary sample to nucleic acid eluate) are all essential features.Estimated value excluding VAT: 150 000 GBP
